I was born in Morocco and raised in Algeria and Southern France.  I taught art and English in French schools in Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal for ten years before moving to Colorado in 1999.  Since moving to Colorado, I have worked at the International School of Denver and at the Ecole Française de Denver. In 2006 I started “La Petite Ecole,” a bilingual French/English Preschool which I run from my home.  Despite being busy with the preschool, my 6 adult children and 5 (and a half) grandchildren, I always find time to paint and write.

I bought my first set of watercolors while vacationing in Southern France in 1992 and fell in love with painting.  Not long afterwards, I held a solo show at the French Cultural Center in Nouakchott, the Capital City of Mauritania.  While there, I was commissioned by the National Post Office to paint five traditional Mauritanian scenes to be used for stamps.  I also illustrated a book of Poems: Mauritania:  Mirror of Time (Poems by Jacques Bariou). The book quickly sold out of its first printing and was chosen by Air France Corporation as a gift to its first class travelers to West African countries.

I started off using watercolors, but now incorporate oils, acrylics, collage and less traditionally, instant coffee (Nescafé), in my art.  I have presented my work in over 23 individual solo painting exhibitions worldwide: French Cultural Center in Nouakchott, Mauritania; Moroccan Embassy, Nouakchott, Mauritania; Hôtel de la Poste, St. Louis, Senegal; Novotel Hotel, Dakar, Senegal; Art Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia; Private showings in Mauritania, Senegal and Colorado.

In September of 2014, I inaugurated “Patsy’s Palette,” a Painting and Dining experience in my home.  Your evening reservation includes a three course meal and the creating your very own acrylic painting to take home!

I am excited to introduce some of my newer paintings, which are mostly mixed media on canvas.  With these latest paintings, I strive to tell a story in order to capture and intrigue the viewer.  I hope that you will constantly find something new hidden in these works.

If you would like to make an appointment to come and see my paintings in person, please contact me directly.  Even the best website cannot take the place of meeting a piece of art face to face as a photograph can never do justice to the textures, the details and the feeling a painting can give you.  Next Art Show is coming Soon!  Save the Date!  November 26 @ 12
